A short word from our designer:
Regardless of whether my clients budget is large or small, their satisfaction and appreciation is my true reward each time I create a cost effective design that suits their lifestyle needs.
Below is but a small taste of my extensive design work. I hope viewing them brings you at least some of the immense pleasure the challenge of creating them brought to me.
This generous resort style home features seven separate pavilion roofs, with vaulted ceilings and sandstone floors. Every detail was addressed to the extent that we detailed the handrails and balustrade from a photograph taken by the client at a very old house in Asia. The open plan luxury indoor outdoor lifestyle of the home was complimented with stacking cedar doors opening onto pavilion style Alfresco areas complete with bamboo ceilings. The amazing ensuite opens onto a private courtyard, complete with cobblestone paving and a garden shower.
400 sq metres of land, a 6 meter street frontage, and 9 metres of gradient up from the road was what we needed to work with for this client. They asked for a modern 4 bed home with three bathrooms, generous open entertaining areas, large separate media, a three person home office, double garage and lots of storage. Rain water tanks were installed under the home behind a workshop to provide for the fully landscaped and reticulated low maintenance gardens. The clients were also not afraid to add some colour. The result was this amazing 380 sq m home on four levels, with a large entertaining deck for the view, and a private courtyard to the rear.
Simple hip rooves, clean lines, and balance to the external design was the request. Internally we created vaulted two story ceilings to the open plan areas giving a feeling of space and volume to the home, from the moment you entered. The ground floor provided spacious formal and informal living, media room, home office, and a chef’s kitchen opening to generous outdoor entertaining areas.
The master suite, located on one side of the upper level comes complete with a balcony, and for privacy is separated from the guest wing on the other side of the home by a bridge across a two story vaulted area.
We have worked with clients from many parts of the world, so when asked to create this home with a Japanese theme, we approached the challenge with confidence and caution. The raised and multiple hip rooves finished in a flat profile tile do give this home an Asian feel externally, but from the moment you enter through the custom front door, the feel is that of Japan. From the feature staircase, to the sushi kitchen with stainless steel and stone benches, and feature Shoji style doors, the attention to detail is clearly demonstrated in every area of this truly unique design and schedule of finishes.
Your home should compliment your lifestyle, and with a large sloping site and a challenging brief to work with, I created a home design that does just that for this family. Externally the home is very much Queensland, with a combination of painted brick and weatherboard, generous use of recycled timber and extensive sandstone paving. Entering the front door you see terraced floor levels to avoid as much external site retaining as possible, while providing a flow from the kitchen and open plan living out onto a large landscaped entertaining area, complete with swimming pool. The timber floors and raised ceiling levels to the internal living enhance the character and tropical feel of this truly unique home. Children’s bedrooms are provided some privacy in a slightly elevated position away from the open living areas, complete with their own bathroom etc. The timber and glass staircase provides easy access to the upper levels. With a very generous media room and guest quarters positioned to the rear of the home, the front of the upper level easily accommodates the stunning master suite, an art studio and a home office, all opening out onto a wide veranda and views to die for.
